Get to Know Your Eye Doctors
Native New Yorker, she fell in love with Texas and transplanted her career here in Austin. She’s served a number of cities such as Boston and Houston and is now excited to serve the community of Austin/Round Rock/Hutto! Like Texans, she has a big heart that evolves around many passions such as her family & friends, motherhood, experimenting new foods, and meeting new people. She welcomes all people of all walks of life to the clinic and practices with a discerning eye for detail and ambition for satisfaction.
As the eldest of six children, Dr. Josephine Do has always been surrounded by a sense of family and responsibility, which has deeply influenced her personal and professional ethos.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Dr. Do completed her undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin, earning her B.S. in Human Biology. Once she graduated, she says she pursued her true passion, obtaining her optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry (NECO) in Boston.
Dr. Do completed her externships at a private practice in Manchester, NH, a community health center in East Boston, MA, and two veterans affairs hospitals in Portland, OR, and Bedford, MA. Throughout her externships, she gained experience in managing ocular disease, focusing on diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, corneal disease, contact lenses, dry eye treatment, and glaucoma.
Dr. Do is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and is a member of the American Academy of Optometry, American Optometric Association, and Texas Optometric Association. She is a licensed eye doctor in Alaska and Texas, a fact she says represents more than just a professional milestone, testifying to her commitment to serving diverse communities and adapting to various healthcare needs.
Since 2019, she has considered it a privilege to grow as an eye care professional. She is passionate about building connections with her patients and finding purpose in understanding that even our briefest moments together can leave a lasting imprint on our lives.
Community service is a cornerstone of Dr. Do’s personal and professional life, largely thanks to her father, who runs a non-profit community center in Greater Houston that provides essential services, education, and housing support to economically disadvantaged families and senior citizens. She contributes to this mission by participating in health screenings and volunteering during the weekly food fair.
When she’s away from the office, Dr. Do enjoys rock climbing, hiking, and any other activity that allows her to spend time outdoors. She’d love to extend her nurturing spirit to fostering fur babies someday.

Dr. Freeland graduated from New England College of Optometry in Boston, where she honed her skills in ophthalmology before relocating to Austin, Texas, in 2021.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Freeland enjoys spending Sunday mornings at home with her husband Brennden, their one-year-old daughter Harley, and their two dogs, Barley and Weller. Brenndan and Dr. Freeland often spend Sundays meal prepping and trying new recipes. They love all kinds of food, but have a special place in their hearts for Mexican.
Outside of the house, their family loves searching out the latest and greatest playgrounds for Harley to play at and loves touring local breweries. You’d be surprised at how kid and pet-friendly many of these breweries are!
Dr. Rachel Cofield is a native of Cedar Park, Texas, and an accomplished optometrist at our Georgetown eye clinic. After earning her undergraduate degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, she went to the University of Houston to get her optometry education, graduating cum laude.
When asked what gets her out of bed and to the clinic daily, Dr. Cofield will tell you that she loves improving patients' daily lives by helping them see and experience the world more clearly. She especially loves helping people deal with dry eye syndrome.
Outside the office, Dr. Cofield is a self-proclaimed foodie with a creative side, enjoying crochet and spoiling her two cats, Griz and Rezz, who help make every day an adventure!
